Process mapping

Business processes often evolve over time and may no longer be the most effective or efficient method for achieving an objective. In new organisations, or when new technology is introduced, there may not be a defined process. Process mapping is a technique for showing a business process or workflow in a visual, step by step diagram. This allows decisions to be made about who does what and the order that things need to be done in. Presenting processes in this way also reveals hidden decision points ("what if this step doesn't go as planned?"), allowing contingency plans to be developed.

Our training will give you the basic skills for analysing, understanding and presenting business processes using process maps.

Duration

This is a one day workshop.

Who should attend?

This programme has been developed for managers, change agents and business consultants who need to understand how business processes work.

What will you learn?

The main areas covered by this workshop are:
  • understanding a process
  • common process map symbols
  • creating simple process maps
  • identifying problems in existing processes, and
  • identifying decision points.
Customised training - in your workplace
