DO NOT HINDER A CONSTABLE ON POINT DUTY BY ASKING QUESTIONS
From the 1934 Wills Cigarettes 'Safety First' album.
"Do not hinder a constable on point duty by asking questions, for, in doing so, you may also be obstructing three or more lines of traffic. The motor cyclist in the picture is holding up the traffic to the front and rear of the policeman as well as that which is just behind him. If you must speak to the traffic controller at a busy road junction, park your machine at the nearest convenient point and walk over to him. In some cases conversation and waste of time can be avoided by a glance at the sign-post."
