CARPETED STAIRS
Cruise ships are noted for glitzy furnishings and these stairs in the balcony of the theatre on a cruise ship are a prime example. Due to the colour of the carpet, and the fact that the lighting here is minimal during performances, it is very difficult to determine where one step ends and another begins. The crew placed strips of duct tape on the leading edge of each step so the passengers would not misstep as they used the stairs.
